Scaling Notion across Affirm
Client Overview:
Affirm is a financial technology company that offers consumers a flexible and transparent way to make purchases by providing “buy now, pay later” (BNPL) services, allowing them to split payments into installments without hidden fees or interest for eligible plans. The company partners with various retailers to offer these financing options at checkout, aiming to empower consumers with greater purchasing power and financial control.
Challenge:
As Affirm matured from startup to enterprise, they needed to look back at their sprawling software portfolio and make some decisions. A significant decision was to invest heavily in the promise of Notion. They built out a connected workspace creating a company intranet. This centralized key documents into a few pages, but it did not provide a clear path to leave confluence or asana or google docs.
Solution:
Notion State developed a ‘Department OS’ template enabling rapid deployment and onboarding to a department-centralize Notion Operating System that includes:
- Department Intranet
- Department Wiki
- Department Collaboration Tools
- OKR System
- Project and Tasks
- Meeting Notes
- Operational Files
By leveraging a standard UI across departments, Notion State is able to create an Affirm-specific application within Notion enabling simplified offboarding from Asana and into Notion.
Results:
- Increased Notion Adoption
- Reduced Reliance on Asana, Confluence, and gSites
